It's not as easy as he thinks it will be, and things get even more complicated when Sterling realizes that he's fallen in love with Owen. With the stakes that much higher, Sterling's more determined than ever to win Owen over. But now he'll have to convince Owen they can have more than a teacher / student relationship, more than just good kink. Me and this book: I loved this. I really did. I don’t even know or care for that matter why some reviews says that this isn’t a brilliance like I thought it was. It has the elements of what I like in a BDSM book. Yes, it might be a little lighter than the others but everything else was there. So just fuck what everyone else says, I think this was gold. This was one of my instant favorite books where, you know, you read the first chapter then the next thing you know it’s already morning and you haven’t put the book down not even once. This was that kind of book for me. Besides, I never turn down a BDSM book, NEVER. Unless it’s really bad, not like this book though. Review: Okay, let’s all welcome in Sterling Baker, everyone. Sterling, bless his wonderful name, is a bright and active kid who knows what he wants in life. He knows that he’s gay and he’s okay with that, what he wants to determine now is if he likes being on the submissive side too. When he and his friend went to a club, he spots Owen Sawyer there having a light scene with a woman and Sterling couldn’t take his eyes off of him. That was the moment when he decided that he wants Owen as his dom. Owen here, however, is an experienced dom who doesn’t take kindly to newbies. When he realizes that Sterling is what he usually avoids, he totally ignores and rejects any attempt Sterling makes at him. But it backfires because that’s what got him more interested in Sterling. Sterling wasn’t backing down as well and in the end, they ended up having an agreement and so thus begins their student/teacher ‘relationship’. Oh and plus, they really are student and teacher. There are many points in the story that makes the readers pull more for Sterling but Owen’s role proves to be heavy as well. With Sterling being new at all this, Owens gives him a chance to learn to follow and obey. Good thing that Sterling was determined to do that. But alas, life gets in the way as usual, making it both hard for Sterling to get what he wants from Owen and for Owen to give what is necessary for Sterling. It’s a push and pull, a relationship. And what makes this story more intriguing is the fact that it starts from the very beginning, from them not knowing each other yet and it works its way from there. The readers will get to see all the sides that holds both the characters and can see it clash with each other too. The bits and pieces of drama interlocked with the dom/sub relationship will surely preoccupy the readers until the end. Believe me, read it until the end everyone, that climax part near the end was what got me so baffled and awestrucked with this whole story. The revealed emotions and unforeseen events at the end really was something worth reading about, I promise you that. |
